Great news for Tiger Woods fans who have been waiting hard to see him once again back in action after his stint at the Masters- the former # 1 golfer would be reportedly competing at the prestigious Players Championships.
The golf great himself announced about his participation at Players over Twitter. The Tournament is scheduled to start next month.
In regards to Tiger’s overall experience with Players, the former # 1 has been able to bag 2 triumphs at the great tournament, the latest one was 2 years back in 2013. He had also been a runner up in one of his Players’ sessions.
Tiger is looking forward to another great session at the TPC Sawgrass course this time and is hopeful to have a repeat of 2013- where he defeated Kevin Streelman & Jeff Maggert to clinch the victory.
“Looking to get back to PLAYERS this time, hopeful for a 2013 repeat”, read one of the recent tweets from Tiger.
Woods had been suffering from a bad phase in his career given his injuries since the last year. He had to take time off the course as part of his recovery routine from critical back surgery. He could not take part in 2014 Players not he could participate in Memorial Tournament.
But this time Woods seemed to be gearing up for both of them with full confidence. Jack Nicklaus had confirmed that the erstwhile # 1 would be competing at Memorial Tournament this year which is scheduled for June. His participation in both the tournaments will work as a fantastic preparation ground for him for the upcoming US Open that is scheduled for late June.
The Players is about to start on 7th of May this year while Jack’s tourney is from June 4th to 7th.
