Justin Thomas continues his incredible run this season as he lifts the FedEx Cup.

He also receives USD10 million in prize money – a decent consolation following his narrow Tour Championship loss to XanderSchauffele.

Thomas won a major championship in the US PGA and after seeing five victories, the FedEx was a feather to cap it all. Even the runner up was delighted for top golfer, considering his efforts this term.

Schauffele was happy for his rival as even happier for his own achievement this season. He was impressive at East Lake and has two wins in his debut PGA Tour. After the US Open and the Greenbrier Classic, he was still outside of the top 80 in the world rankings. The 23-year old was close to winning but his 68 meant an aggregate minus 12, allowing Thomas’ 66 to make him the new FedEx champ.

Thomas succeeds Rory McIlroy but it is not enough to equal Tiger Woods. Woods hold the record of six event victories in a term.

“I feel like I played so well this year. I was consistent. There have been a lot of great weeks and great memories. I’ve had life-changing events that just kind of ended with another life-changing thing for me,” the excited golfer said.

The FedEx champ has career earnings of USD15 million so he would be delighted by the financial surge. He is also set to rise to the top four spots in the world rankings.

Jordan Spieth, long-time friend of Thomas, praised the win, adding that Thomas’ confidence played a role.

“JT just has a tenacity, a confidence that takes experience in order to build and to have.”
