The full name of Tiger Woods is Eldrick Tont Woods. He is a legend in the world of golf and the most popular golfing figure in the history of the game. He is the former world number one and has been recognized as the highest paid professional athlete in the world which is a huge feat in itself. He has won an estimated 90.5 USD from winnings and endorsements in the year 2010. He was born in Cypress California on the 30th of December in the year 1975. His parents always supported him in his ventures and took up golf at a very young age. He was practically glued to the golf club and spent hours in the course practicing continuously. He went to the Kansas State University and played golf at the collegiate level. He was always above his competition. He breezed through the tournaments winning one title after another and appeared in many magazines and television shows as his talent was being recognized by one and all.

Tiger Woods was born to a Buddhist family and he was also extremely spiritual from childhood. He was a believer of Lord Buddha and he firmly believed that the principles of Buddhism had immense relevance in the modern world. He practiced Buddhism as it gave him an inner peace and helped him focus on the work at hand. He was named PGA player of the year 10 times and he was PGA tour player of the year 10 times, he has won the Vardon trophy 8 times and he was the winner of the Byron Nelson award 9 times. He has had an incredible number of major wins and Masters Tournament 4 times, he is the 3 time winner of the U.S open and the Open Championships and he won the PGA championship 4 times.

Tiger Woods has faced many hardships in his personal life recently which has affected his game a lot and his major slump in form recently can be attributed to these problems. He spent weeks in a rehabilitation and mental conditioning centre as he was severely disturbed after these incidents but he is a true champion and he will come back to rule the world of golf yet again.
